If the wind gets up this weekend, the trees outside the office, will finally let go of their few remaining leaves; scattered to the ground so we can kick them around for a week or two. Then the trees that were looking so splendid in their autumn clothes will lay dormant and bare during the colder months ahead. Probably part of the natural scheme of things, if you’re a tree, but as we know here at Racing Green; winter and naked, don’t mix. Nor is it a time to lie dormant for three months. It’s actually an opportunity for us to do what we like best. Hit the season head on, with some new clothes and accessories.
One of our favourite trends at the moment is for classic knitwear. Fairisle designs, cable knits, chunky knit cardigans, lined with fur are just the thing you need to stay looking your best, when the weather’s doing its worst.
When the weather’s cold, it’s often an amazing time to get up early, (not too early, we’re not animals!) and go out to the park or countryside, take a flask and enjoy the winter sun. Leave the coat behind and layer up your outfit, starting with a Henley under one of our brushed cotton shirts. (Perfect for when you get to the pub for lunch.) Choose a heavy knit on top, to keep in the warmth and then close off all remaining exits with one of our British made hats, scarves or gloves, or even our genuine sheepskin gloves. (By the way, there’s a great gift idea for someone.)
A couple of great pieces of knitwear should see you through the hardest winter, until the leaves start coming back. By then we’ll have some great memories of getting out in the wind and snow, enjoying what the British weather does best. (Probably need your coat at that point!)
Great knitwear doesn’t come cheap, so to help you get what you need, we’re offering up to 40% off selected knitwear and accessories this week.
Heartwarming!
